Liquid Metal After 2 Years – Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut
Liquid metal is somewhat controversial, many love it and sing it’s praises, stories of 20 degree drops in temperature are common place. Others are less impressed and reference examples of liquid metal eating it’s way through heatsinks or shorting out components and taking out an entire system as a result. But what’s the truth, is liquid metal good or bad, is using it really that risky or are the majority of issues caused by careless users.
In the above video we revisit my old i5 4690k based gaming PC that’s been running liquid metal for the last two years to determine whether it’s done any damage to the CPU die or heatspreader.
We’ll answer the question, what after effects are there to using leaving liquid metal in your system for 2 years and should it be changed more frequently than this.
